Pesto is a little bit magical for me.
This was the recipe that accompanied the moment when I realized I had the idea memorized and I could make any kind of pesto I wanted.
Cooking is like that for me. It becomes fun, not when I am obsessing over 7/8 and a 140 degree oven, but when I begin to make something my own.
Pesto: The Basic Recipe of Which I Invite You to Change Completely/Immediately : )
- handful of toasted nuts (I have used walnuts, pecans and pistachios)
- juice and zest of one lemon
- 1 TBS nutritional yeast
- 20 basil leaves
- salt and pepper
- water, for the right consistency
